Loft 250 Wine Cooler Dual Zone 30 Bottle #25670
At 15 inches wide, the Loft 250 fits where larger units simply won't — under a kitchen counter, inside a bar cabinet or recessed into a dining room renovation — while still running two independent temperature zones for your reds and whites. The upper zone holds from 41–54°F for sparkling and whites; the lower runs 46–66°F for reds, so a Burgundy and a Sancerre can each wait at the right temperature before the first course. Five rolling plate shelves with full extension handle both Bordeaux and Burgundy bottle profiles without rearranging your setup.
The stainless steel door is seamless at the corners and has a fingerprint-proof coating — useful if this unit lives in a visible space. The glass is double-pane, tinted and tempered. The front vent means you can push it flush into cabinetry or leave it freestanding. An interior LCD panel, security lock with two keys and R600a refrigerant round out a unit that is more carefully engineered than its compact footprint suggests.
Best For
- Keeping a rotating selection of whites and reds at separate serving temperatures without a second unit
- Built-in installations where a 15″ cutout is the only option available
- A secondary home or dining room bar that needs serious temperature control in a small footprint
- Collections mixing Bordeaux and Burgundy bottle shapes that need shelf flexibility on every level
Placement requirements: 60-85F ambient temperature. If the ambient temperature is outside this range, the performance of the unit may be affected.
Size: 15w x 25d (with handle) 22 1/2d (without handle) x 34h (in)
Quiet Mode The wine cooler can be put into "quiet mode", which reduces the fan speed by 20-25% and reduces the amount of noise produced by the fans, by pressing and holding the light button (while the display panel is locked from not being touched for 15 seconds) for about 3-5 seconds. The C/F indicator will flash when the unit is in "quiet mode."

- Separate temperature ranges per zone: The upper zone holds 41–54°F for whites and sparkling; the lower zone holds 46–66°F for reds. The upper zone must be set at least 4°F colder than the lower — worth noting when configuring both simultaneously.
- 5 rolling metal plate shelves with full extension: These roll out rather than slide, and the flat plate design accommodates Bordeaux, Burgundy and other wide-shouldered bottles. Capacity rating of 30 bottles is based on standard Bordeaux sizing; larger formats will reduce that count.
- Front-vented cabinet: Compatible with flush under-counter built-in installations or freestanding use — no rear clearance required. Unit dimensions are 15"W x 22.5"D x 34"H (handle adds 2.5" to depth).
- Double-pane, tempered and tinted glass door: Double-pane construction provides thermal insulation at the door; tinting reduces UV exposure to the bottles.
- Seamless stainless steel door with fingerprint-proof coating and reversible hinges
- Blue LCD display panel inside the cabinet; switchable between Fahrenheit and Celsius
- Security door lock included with 2 keys
- R600a refrigerant with compressor cooling: R600a runs at lower pressure than older refrigerants, which reduces vibration — relevant for long-term bottle storage. Requires a dedicated 15-amp circuit at 115V / 60 Hz.
- UL / ETL safety listed; CEC and DOE energy compliant; TUV certified
- Interior LED lighting
Pairs Well With
- The Loft owner’s manual (linked in specs) details shelf configuration options and zone setup — worth reviewing before installation if planning a built-in fit.

*Not including the handle (2 1/2" D)
Weight: 99 lbs
Capacity: Up to 30 bottles
Material: Stainless-Steel
Power/Rating:
115V / 60 Hz. 160 watts. R600a refrigerant. Requires 15-amp circuit.
Warranty:
1-year warranty on parts and labor, and 5 years on the compressor
What These Specs Mean
- R600a refrigerant: An isobutane-based refrigerant used in high-efficiency compressor units; it runs quieter and consumes less energy than older refrigerant types.
- 15-amp circuit required: The unit must connect to a dedicated 15-amp outlet - sharing a circuit with other appliances can cause tripped breakers or inconsistent temperature performance.
PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS
- This appliance is designed for free standing installation or can be recessed into cabinetry.
- The wine cellar should be placed in a location where the ambient temperature is between 60-85°F. If the ambient temperature is outside this range, the performance of the unit may be affected.
- Place your wine cellar on a flat, solid floor that is strong enough to support it when it is fully loaded. To level your wine cellar, adjust the front leveling leg at the bottom of the wine cellar.
- When moving your wine cellar, please do not incline it more than 45 degrees.
- Locate the wine cellar away from direct sunlight and sources of heat (stove, heater, radiator, etc.). Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating and heat sources may increase electrical consumption.
- Avoid locating the unit in damp areas.
- Plug the wine cellar into a dedicated (for this appliance only), properly installed and grounded wall outlet. Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the third (grounding) prong from the power cord. Any questions concerning power and/or electrical grounding should be directed to a certified electrician or authorized product service center.
- 4 rolling plate shelves with capacity for up to 6 Bordeaux bottles per shelf
- 3 additional bottles stacked on the top shelf
- 5 bottles on the bottom wire shelf (single deep)
- Total capacity for up to 32 Bordeaux-size bottles
- 12 bottles can be stored in the upper zone, and 20 bottles can be stored in the lower zone
Can the Loft 250 be installed under a counter, or does it have to be freestanding?
A: The Loft 250 is front-vented, which means it works as either a freestanding unit or a true built-in under-the-counter installation. The cabinet measures 15" wide x 22.5" deep x 34" tall — note that the handle adds another 2.5" of depth, so account for that in a built-in cutout. Reversible hinges give you flexibility on door swing direction for either configuration.
What are the exact temperature ranges for each zone, and can they be set independently?
A: Yes, the two zones are independently controlled. The upper zone is designed for whites and sparkling wines and can be set between 41°F and 54°F. The lower zone is designed for reds and ranges from 46°F to 66°F. One important constraint: the upper zone must always be set at least 4°F colder than the lower zone. Temperatures are displayed on a blue LCD panel inside the cooler, with a choice of Fahrenheit or Celsius readout.
The listed capacity is 30 bottles — does that hold Burgundy-shaped bottles or only Bordeaux?
A: The 30-bottle capacity is based on standard Bordeaux bottles. The 5 rolling metal plate shelves have full extension and are designed to accommodate both Bordeaux and Burgundy bottle shapes, but wider or heavier bottles (Burgundy, Champagne, magnums) will reduce the total count. If your collection runs heavily toward Burgundy or Rhône bottles, plan for a realistic capacity closer to the mid-20s.
What are the electrical requirements, and will it work on a shared kitchen circuit?
A: The Loft 250 runs on 115V / 60 Hz and draws 160 watts, but it requires a dedicated 15-amp circuit. It should not be placed on a shared circuit with other appliances. It uses R600a refrigerant, which is among the most energy-efficient refrigerants available, and the unit is CEC and DOE energy compliant.
What does the warranty cover, and for how long?
A: The Loft 250 carries a 1-year warranty on parts and labor and a separate 5-year warranty on the compressor. The compressor warranty is the more meaningful coverage given that the compressor is the costliest and most critical component in any refrigerator-based wine cooler.

Beautiful wine frig
This wine frig is stylish and works well, I would highly recommend it. I recommend getting in house delivery as it comes on a palette and is very heavy. The only glitch we had was upon set up. The frig door was locked; however, the key to the lock was inside the frig, so we had to pick the lock to get to it.

Beware. Broken in arrival
Received this device and upon plugging it in it made a loud noise like a fan hitting the side of the device it’s been three weeks and I’m still trying to get it replaced.
Reply from IWA
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that the cooler was damaged during transit. It seemed like it might be an easy fix, so we attempted to have a tech come to your home to assess and repair the cooler. Subsequently, we decided to replace the unit at your request. We were closed during the Christmas holidays, which delayed the shipment of the replacement cooler by several days, but the replacement unit is en route and hopefully will arrive soon and intact.

fantastic customer service
I purchased a cooler to fit in a specific space from this company. It died after 2 years. Customer service allowed me to replace this cooler with a new one to fit at a very reasonable price. It fits and looks great.

Loft 25 dual zone wine cooler
The Loft 250 dual zone wine cooler is very attractive with its glass door and LED lighting. It pairs very well with the Loft 400 Beverage Center. I would say it is a bit noisier when running than I like, but turning it to "quiet zone" did help. IWA is a great company to deal with.
