Le Cache Gallery 2400 Driftwood #36957
Details
When a growing collection of Bordeaux, Burgundy and Napa bottles has outgrown a converted closet or undercounter cooler, the Le Cache Gallery 2400 in Driftwood is the kind of cabinet that ends the search. It holds 286 bottles in a single freestanding unit — 256 in individually racked slots sized at 3.8 inches to accommodate oversized formats, plus room for roughly 30 more in bulk — and does so with the CellarPro 1800-series cooling unit managing both temperature and humidity with digital precision, not just chilling like a refrigerator. The Driftwood finish, a cool gray tone with a fine linear grain, reads as furniture rather than appliance, and glass panels on both the doors and sides keep the collection visible from multiple angles without sacrificing the airtight thermal envelope created by double-pane tinted glass, magnetic gaskets and foil-backed polyisocyanurate insulation throughout.
Best For
- Moving a 200–300 bottle collection out of a closet conversion and into a properly conditioned, humidity-controlled environment for long-term aging
- Placing a serious wine cabinet in a dining room or living space where noise levels matter — the QTL cooling unit option is the quietest available for ambient conditions under 80°F
- Collections that mix standard Bordeaux with larger-format Burgundy or Rhône bottles, where universal rack slots that fit oversized bottles remove the guesswork
- A dining room or second-home remodel where the cabinet needs to hold its visual weight as a piece of furniture, not just a storage appliance
Features
- Three CellarPro 1800-series cooling unit options: The QTL-ECX (2.4A running) is the quietest choice for ambient rooms under 80°F. Step up to the QT-ECX (2.9A) or XT-ECX (3.0A) if the cabinet will be placed in a warmer environment. All units are US-made and carry a 5-year warranty.
- Active humidity control: Unlike residential wine coolers that regulate temperature only, the CellarPro units maintain both temperature and humidity — critical for long-term aging with natural corks. Adjustable humidity performance data is available via the manufacturer's published chart.
- SB/0™ Technology: The top-vent exhaust is engineered so the cabinet can sit flush against a wall with no rear clearance requirement — a meaningful advantage in finished rooms where built-in recesses are not an option.
- 286-bottle capacity with oversized bottle compatibility: 256 individual racked slots at 3.8-inch spacing accommodate standard Bordeaux and Burgundy formats. An additional ~30 bottles stack in the bulk section. The all-wood interlock racks accept larger-format bottles without modification.
- Foil-backed polyisocyanurate insulation: Higher R-value per inch than standard foam, which helps the cooling unit run less frequently and keeps operating costs lower in warmer placement conditions.
- Energy-Saver and Quick-Chill modes on the electronic controller, plus audible and visual alarms for temperature excursions.
- Optional bottle probe: Allows the controller to read actual wine temperature rather than air temperature inside the cabinet — useful when dialing in precise aging conditions.
- High-performance air filtration system; low-heat interior LED lighting; stainless bar pulls with security locks on both doors
Pairs Well With
- The Le Cache Extended Warranty — the manufacturer offers optional coverage beyond the standard 2-year cabinet / 5-year cooling unit terms, worth considering for a long-term aging installation.

Please note:
(1) We count the top of the racks as 1 row when counting rows in our racks.
(2) Every slot in the racks is 3 3/4" and sized to fit oversized Burgundy and most Champagne-size bottles.
(3) Bulk storage is located atop the racks (except for the first row atop the racks). Bulk storage capacity is based on Bordeaux-size bottles.
(4) Total capacity is the sum of racked plus bulk capacity, with double-deep storage in all cases except the Contemporary Credenza (which is single-deep). Usable capacity may be lower by 2-3 bottles when the first few cells under the cooling unit are left empty for proper air circulation.
FAQs
What is the actual bottle capacity, and will it fit Burgundy or oversized bottles?
A: The Gallery 2400 holds 286 bottles total — 256 slots in the all-wood interlock racks (spaced at 3.8-inch centers) plus approximately 30 bottles in bulk stacked storage at the bottom. The universal racking system is designed to accommodate oversized formats including Burgundy, Champagne and Pinot Noir bottles that standard 3.375-inch slots cannot fit. If your collection is heavy in wider-bodied bottles, actual racked capacity will be lower than the rated 256.
Does this cabinet need clearance behind it, or can it sit flush against a wall?
A: The 2400 uses SB/0™ Technology with a top-vent exhaust, meaning all heat is expelled upward rather than out the back or sides. This allows the cabinet to sit flush against the wall with no rear clearance required. The footprint is 40¼" wide x 28¾" deep x 84¼" tall. It is a freestanding unit — not designed for built-in installation — so overhead clearance above the top vent is the primary placement consideration.
Which CellarPro cooling unit should I choose — the QTL, QT or XT?
A: The choice depends on the ambient temperature where the cabinet will live. If the room stays below 80°F, the CellarPro 1800QTL-ECX is the quietest option, drawing only 2.4 running amps. If the ambient temperature regularly exceeds 80°F — a warm dining room, a poorly conditioned basement in summer — step up to the 1800QT-ECX (2.9 amps running) or the 1800XT-ECX (3.0 amps running) for more cooling capacity. All three units run on a standard 115V / 60Hz circuit. Le Cache provides a Thermal Load Calculations guide to help match the unit to your specific conditions.
How does this cabinet manage humidity, and why does that matter for long-term aging?
A: Unlike conventional wine coolers and refrigerators that only regulate temperature, the Gallery 2400 includes Adjustable Humidity Control through the CellarPro cooling unit. Maintaining proper relative humidity prevents corks from drying and contracting, which would allow oxygen intrusion and accelerate spoilage — particularly relevant for bottles you intend to hold for 10 or more years. The system uses digital controls with an electronic thermostat and display, and audible and visual alarms alert you if conditions drift outside your set parameters.
What does the warranty cover, and are there extended options?
A: The cabinet itself carries a 2-year warranty and the CellarPro cooling unit is backed by a 5-year warranty. An optional extended warranty is available for purchase separately. The cooling unit is manufactured in the USA, which simplifies service logistics compared to imported compressor systems.
Is this cabinet noticeably loud in a living space or dining room?
A: Noise level depends on which cooling unit you select. The CellarPro 1800QTL-ECX is specifically engineered for quiet operation and is the recommended choice when the cabinet is in an occupied living area. The 1800QT and 1800XT units move more BTUs and will produce more audible compressor noise. Le Cache publishes a Cooling Unit Sound Performance chart with measured decibel data for each unit, which is worth reviewing before finalizing your selection if the cabinet will be in a quiet room.

The wine cabinet is well made and looks beautiful. The finish is gorgeous and better looking than the images. The unit is quiet.
