For a collector whose bottles have outgrown a kitchen cooler or a closet conversion, the Loft 1200 Double is where serious, long-term storage begins. Two full-height coolers joined side-by-side with center-opening frameless glass doors hold up to 332 Bordeaux-size bottles across four independently controlled temperature zones, letting you age reds at cellar temperature while keeping whites and sparkling wines genuinely ready to pour. The front-vented design installs flush into cabinetry or stands freely in a finished basement or dining room, and at nearly 70 inches tall it holds a collection that most single-unit coolers simply cannot approach.

Each cooler runs two distinct zones: upper zones set between 41–54°F for whites and sparkling wines, lower zones set between 54–66°F for reds, with the upper zone required to run at least 4°F colder than the lower. The rolling metal plate shelves accommodate bottles up to Burgundy size, and optional presentation shelves are available separately for bottles you want to display at eye level. Reversible hinges give you flexibility on placement, and the double-pane tinted tempered glass keeps UV out without obscuring your inventory.

Best For

  • Storing a mixed cellar of 200–300+ bottles where reds and whites need to hold at separate temperatures around the clock
  • Finishing a basement or outfitting a dining room where the unit needs to sit flush inside a cabinet opening
  • Aging Bordeaux and Burgundy long-term alongside a rotating selection of whites chilled and ready for the table
  • Replacing a single-zone cooler that can no longer separate service temperatures as a collection grows past 100 bottles

Placement requirements: 60-85F ambient temperature. If the ambient temperature is outside this range, the performance of the unit will be affected.

Size: 47 1/2w x 27d x 69 3/4h (in)

Shelving: 28 pull-out shelves (26 rolling)

Quiet Mode The wine cooler can be put into "quiet mode", which reduces the fan speed by 20-25% and reduces the amount of noise produced by the fans, by pressing and holding the light button (while the display panel is locked from not being touched for 15 seconds) for about 3-5 seconds. The C/F indicator will flash when the unit is in "quiet mode."

  • 4 independent temperature zones across 2 units: Each cabinet runs its own upper zone (41–54°F for whites and sparkling) and lower zone (54–66°F for reds). The upper zone must be set at least 4°F colder than the lower — a hard constraint to account for when planning your serving temperatures.
  • 332-bottle capacity is Bordeaux-rated: Shelves accommodate Burgundy-size bottles, but the larger diameter reduces total count. Plan accordingly if your cellar skews heavily toward Burgundy or other wide-bodied formats.
  • Requires two dedicated 15-Amp circuits: Each unit runs on 115V / 60Hz and needs its own circuit. If you’re building out a basement or cabinetry niche, electrical rough-in should account for two separate runs.
  • Front-vented for true built-in flexibility: No rear or side clearance required. The unit can be fully recessed into cabinetry without sacrificing cooling performance.
  • R600a compressor refrigerant: Lower global-warming potential than older refrigerants, and generally runs quieter and more efficiently — relevant if this unit will be in a living space or dining room.
  • Ambient operating range is 60–85°F: Performance degrades outside this window. Unconditioned garages or uninsulated spaces that swing below 60°F or above 85°F are not suitable locations.
  • Unit weight is 592 lbs: Verify floor load capacity before placement, particularly on elevated floors or finished basement slabs with shallow substrate.
  • 1-year warranty on parts and labor; 5-year warranty on the compressor. UL / ETL listed.

What These Specs Mean

  • 15-Amp Dedicated Circuit: The unit cannot share a breaker with other appliances — a dedicated outlet must be planned into the installation location, whether recessed or freestanding.
  • 115V / 60Hz: Standard North American residential voltage; no step-down transformer or special wiring beyond the dedicated circuit is required.

PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • This appliance is designed for free standing installation or can be recessed into cabinetry.
  • The wine cellar should be placed in a location where the ambient temperature is between 60-85°F. If the ambient temperature is outside this range, the performance of the unit may be affected.
  • Place your wine cellar on a flat, solid floor that is strong enough to support it when it is fully loaded. To level your wine cellar, adjust the front leveling leg at the bottom of the wine cellar.
  • When moving your wine cellar, please do not incline it more than 45 degrees.
  • Locate the wine cellar away from direct sunlight and sources of heat (stove, heater, radiator, etc.). Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating and heat sources may increase electrical consumption.
  • Avoid locating the unit in damp areas.
  • Plug the wine cellar into a dedicated (for this appliance only), properly installed and grounded wall outlet. Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the third (grounding) prong from the power cord. Any questions concerning power and/or electrical grounding should be directed to a certified electrician or authorized product service center.
  • Double units can share the same circuit.
Our new rolling plate shelves with 80% extension are designed to accommodate Bordeaux and Burgundy*-size bottles in every slot. Each side includes:
  • Total capacity of 332 Bordeaux-size bottles (166 per side)
  • On each side, 88 bottles can be stored in the upper (colder) zone
    • 1 rolling plate shelf with stacked capacity for 22 bottles
    • 6 rolling plate shelves with capacity for up to 11 Bordeaux bottles per shelf
    • Optional presentation shelves (sold separately), each with capacity for 20 bottles; each can be used to replace 2 rolling shelves (bottle capacity will decline by 13 bottles on each side)
  • On each side, 78 bottles can be stored in the lower (warmer) zone
    • 1 half-depth shelf at the bottom with stacked capacity for 12 bottles
    • 6 rolling plate shelves with capacity for up to 11 Bordeaux bottles per shelf
*Please note: Burgundy, Champagne and other larger bottles will reduce capacity.

Can the Loft 1200 Double be installed as a built-in, or does it have to stand free?

A: Either installation works. The unit is front-vented, so it can be recessed into cabinetry or placed as a freestanding piece without any clearance gap at the sides or rear. Doors have reversible hinges, giving you flexibility on which direction each door swings — useful when fitting the cabinet into a dedicated alcove or between flanking panels.

How many bottles does this actually hold, and what happens if I store Burgundy-shaped bottles?

A: Rated capacity is 332 Bordeaux-size bottles — 166 per side. Burgundy, Rhône and other wide-shouldered bottles have a larger diameter, so they take up more shelf space and will reduce that count meaningfully. If your collection skews toward Burgundy and Pinot, plan for a noticeably lower effective capacity than the headline number suggests.

Is this genuinely 4 independent temperature zones, and what ranges can each zone be set to?

A: Yes — each of the two cabinets has 2 separate zones, for 4 zones total across the double unit. The upper zones handle whites and sparkling wine and can be set between 41–54°F. The lower zones are for reds and can be set between 54–66°F. One constraint to know: the upper zone in each cabinet must be set at least 4°F colder than the lower zone. Temperatures display on a blue LED panel inside each unit, with a choice of Fahrenheit or Celsius readout.

What are the electrical requirements, and does it need a dedicated circuit?

A: The Loft 1200 Double runs on 115V / 60Hz and requires a dedicated 15-amp circuit. At 592 lbs delivered weight, plan for proper floor reinforcement and route the circuit before the unit is in place — access behind or beneath it after installation is difficult.

What does the warranty cover, and how long does it last?

A: The warranty is 1 year on parts and labor and 5 years on the compressor. The compressor coverage is the more meaningful long-term protection — it’s the most expensive component to replace, and the R600a compressor system is what maintains precise, stable temperatures across all four zones over the life of the cabinet.

Does the room temperature where I place this matter for performance?

A: It does. The Loft 1200 Double is designed to operate correctly when the ambient temperature stays between 60–85°F. In a finished basement that stays cool year-round or a climate-controlled wine room, this is rarely an issue. In an unheated garage or a space that gets above 85°F in summer, the unit will work harder to hit its lower zone targets and performance can degrade — that environment is not recommended for long-term storage.
