Le Cache Euro 5200 Provincial #754
When a collection outgrows a makeshift cooler and starts demanding real cellar conditions, the Euro 5200 Provincial is the cabinet to consider. Holding 622 bottles across double-deep all-wood racks, it brings the storage capacity of a dedicated wine room into a single freestanding piece. The Provincial Cherry finish — complete with hand-carved trim, crown and base molding and hardwood French doors — was designed by Pinnacle Award-winning designer Martin de Blois, and it reads as furniture in a dining room, study or finished basement rather than as an appliance. What separates it from a wine cooler is what happens inside: a CellarPro cooling unit actively manages both temperature and humidity, the conditions that actually matter for aging fine wine over the long term.
Best For
- Moving a 400+ bottle collection out of a basement closet or improvised space and into a room where it can be properly stored and accessed
- Laying down structured reds — Bordeaux, Napa Cabernet, Northern Rhône — for a decade or more in a humidity-controlled environment
- Placing a high-capacity cabinet flush against a wall in a finished living space where both noise level and visual footprint need to work
- Storing a mixed collection that includes magnums or other oversized formats alongside standard bottles without reconfiguring the rack
- SB/0™ Zero-Clearance Placement: The cabinet can be positioned flush against a wall with no rear clearance required. The top-vent exhaust expels heat upward, not backward, so it works in tight alcoves, finished basements or between built-ins without a dedicated air gap.
- CellarPro 1800-Series Cooling Unit (U.S.-made): Three unit options (1800QTL-ECX, 1800QT-ECX, 1800XT-ECX) let you match cooling capacity to your room’s ambient temperature. Running draw starts at 2.4 amps, keeping operating costs low relative to the cabinet’s size. A separate Cooling Unit Selection Guide is available to help match the right unit to your space.
- Adjustable Humidity Control with digital thermostat — addresses the core limitation of standard wine coolers and refrigerators, which cycle humidity unpredictably and are not recommended for long-term aging.
- Foil-backed polyisocyanurate insulation throughout the cabinet body, paired with double-pane tinted glass doors, provides both thermal stability and UV protection without requiring blackout panels or curtains.
- Double-deep all-wood interlock racking: 544 racked slots at 3.8-inch spacing accommodate most standard and oversized bottles (including larger Burgundy and Champagne formats). An additional ~78-bottle bulk zone handles mixed cases or larger-format bottles that won’t fit standard slots.
- Energy-Saver and Quick-Chill modes plus audible and visual alarms. The alarm system alerts you to temperature excursions — relevant if the unit is in a secondary home or less-monitored room. Optional bottle probe adds a second temperature reference point inside the collection itself.
- High-performance air filtration system with a replaceable filter accessible from the top — helps protect corks from airborne contaminants over extended aging periods.
- Hand-turned pewter pulls with keyed security locks on both doors
- Low-heat interior LED lighting
- Warranty split: 5 years on the CellarPro cooling unit, 2 years on the cabinet; optional extended warranty available for both.

What These Specs Mean
- Running / Startup Amps: The compressor draws a brief high-current spike at startup; the startup amp figure is what determines whether the cabinet will trip a shared circuit breaker, so verify it against your available circuit capacity before installation.
- Cooling Unit Options (QTL / QT / XT): The three CellarPro models differ in cooling capacity and noise output; the correct choice depends on the ambient temperature of the room where the cabinet will be placed — consult the Thermal Load Calculations link for guidance.

PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS
POWER REQUIREMENT:
The power cord extends 6 1/2 feet from the rear of the cabinet. If an extension cord is used, it should be 14-gauge wire or thicker, grounded, and as short as possible.
The cooling unit plugs into a standard grounded wall outlet. We recommend adding a surge protector, rated at 15 amps or more (for example, click here), to protect the cooling unit from power surges.
The outlet must be on a dedicated circuit. The components of the cooling unit draw 3 amps, and the electric outlet on the side of the cooling unit also is rated for 3 amps. The cooling unit should not, under any circumstances, share a circuit with another motor or compressor-based appliance, like a wine cooler, fridge, air conditioner, or garage opener.
FLOOR SURFACE
Because of the significant weight of your wine cabinet, it is important that it be placed on a hard surface; otherwise, the cabinet may become skewed if the doors settle unevenly over time. If you will be placing your cabinet on thick carpeting, consider placing a carpet board underneath the wine cabinet. You can purchase a carpet board from Le Cache, or you can have your local hardware store cut a 3/4 inch plywood board to the following dimensions: 45w x 25d (inches).
DOOR SWING CLEARANCE
The doors of our wine cabinets swing wide by approximately 1 inch when open at 90 degrees. The additional width should be accounted for when purchasing cabinets that do not have moldings because the stated widths of our wine cabinets do not account for the door swing. Please note that the additional width is required in front of the cabinet.
WEIGHT LOAD FACTOR
After loading your wine cabinet with wine bottles, it will be extremely heavy. When selecting a location for your cabinet, make sure that the floor underneath is strong enough to support the weight of the cabinet.
TEMPERATURE REQUIREMENTS
CellarPro cooling units are designed to handle temperatures ranging from 50 to 95F.
VENTILATION REQUIREMENTS
The cooling unit generates hot air that must be exhausted in such a way that it won't be recirculated by the cooling unit. If the hot air cannot be dissipated or channeled properly, and the cooling unit is forced to recycle its own hot air, the cooling unit will be unable to maintain cold temperatures inside the wine cabinet and/or will overheat and/or will run all the time. Proper ventilation can be achieved in one of three ways:
- 1. UPRIGHT CABINETS WITH TOP-VENT CONFIGURATIONS
Our upright wine cabinets have been engineered with top-vent cooling units and SB/0 Technology so that they can be placed right up against the wall. In this configuration, the hot air generated by the cooling unit is ventilated through the top of the wine cabinet, and the return air comes from above the wine cabinet, so there must be clearance above and to the sides of the cabinets for the hot air to dissipate, as follows: - Contemporary wine cabinets, Carolina wine cabinets, Loft wine cabinets, Vault wine cabinets and a Semi-Custom wine cabinets require 18 inches of clearance above the wine cabinet.
- European Country wine cabinets and Mission wine cabinets require 12 inches of clearance above the wine cabinet.
- The sides always need to be open - in other words, placement in a corner, enclosed space, alcove, or closet will not work without our front-vent hood (see Configuration 3 below).
- 2. UPRIGHT CABINETS WITH Rear-Vent Configurations
Our upright wine cabinets can be configured so that the return air comes from behind the wine cabinet. This configuration is useful in situations where sufficient clearance around the wine cabinet doesn't exist. In this configuration: - If the rear of the wine cabinet is not accessible, a minimum clearance of 7 1/2 inches above the wine cabinet is required for removal and replacement of the cooling unit air filter.
- If the rear of the wine cabinet is accessible, a minimum clearance of 3 inches above the wine cabinet is required for proper airflow, and we recommend using our air deflector to direct the hot air exhaust to the left of the wine cabinet.
- In all cases, the wine cabinet must be placed 3-4 inches away from the rear wall.
- The sides always need to be open - in other words, placement in a corner, enclosed space, alcove, or closet will not work without our front-vent hood (see Configuration 3 below).
- 3. UPRIGHT CABINETS with Front-Vent Hoods
If you want to place the wine cabinet flush against the wall but you don't have the required clearance (as outlined in Configuration 1 above), or you want to place the wine cabinet in an enclosed space, closet, or alcove, our front-vent hood (placed on top of the wine cabinet) can be used with 7 1/2 inches of clearance above the wine cabinet for removal of the hood and the air filter. Please note: - Contemporary wine cabinets, Loft wine cabinets and Vault wine cabinets can use our front vent hood with OR without the decorative grill.
- European Country wine cabinets, Mission wine cabinets and Carolina wine cabinets can use our front vent hood without the decorative grill (the decorative grill will not fit with crown moldings).
4. CREDENZA WINE CABINETS
Credenza wine cabinets don't require any clearance above the wine cabinet; however, all credenzas require 3-4 inches of space behind the wine cabinet because all the ventilation (intake and exhaust) occurs behind the cabinet.

Please note:
(1) We count the top of the racks as 1 row when counting rows in our racks.
(2) Every slot in the racks is 3 3/4" and sized to fit oversized Burgundy and most Champagne-size bottles.
(3) Bulk storage is located atop the racks (except for the first row atop the racks). Bulk storage capacity is based on Bordeaux-size bottles.
(4) Total capacity is the sum of racked plus bulk capacity, with double-deep storage in all cases except the Contemporary Credenza (which is single-deep). Usable capacity may be lower by 2-3 bottles when the first few cells under the cooling unit are left empty for proper air circulation.
Is the Euro 5200 freestanding or can it be placed flush against a wall?
A: The Euro 5200 is a freestanding cabinet that uses SB/0™ Technology, which allows it to sit flush against a wall without requiring clearance at the rear. Exhaust vents through the top, so you do need open space above the unit. At 79" wide x 31" deep x 91" tall and 550 lbs, plan your space and doorway access carefully before delivery — the cabinet will not fit through a standard 32" doorway without disassembly.
What are the electrical requirements, and does it need a dedicated circuit?
A: The cabinet runs on 115V AC / 60 Hz, standard household current. Running draw is low — 2.4 amps (1800QTL-ECX), 2.9 amps (1800QT-ECX) or 3.0 amps (1800XT-ECX) — but startup (compressor kick-on) draws between 14.2 and 20.1 amps depending on the unit selected. A dedicated 20-amp circuit is strongly recommended to handle those startup spikes without tripping a shared breaker.
What is the real bottle capacity when storing large-format or wide-shouldered bottles like Burgundy or Champagne?
A: The 544 racked slots are sized at 3.8-inch spacing and use universal all-wood interlock racks designed to accommodate oversized bottles, including wide-shouldered Burgundy and Champagne formats. The remaining 78-bottle bulk zone handles stacked storage for additional large formats or mixed cases. Total rated capacity is 622 bottles, which assumes a realistic mix — not a best-case scenario of all standard Bordeaux bottles.
What is the difference between the three CellarPro cooling unit options (QTL, QT, XT)?
A: All three are CellarPro 1800-series units built in the USA and include digital temperature and humidity control, Energy-Saver and Quick-Chill modes, and audible and visual alarms. The key differences are in compressor efficiency and startup draw: the 1800QTL-ECX is the most energy-efficient at 2.4 running amps and 14.2 startup amps; the 1800QT-ECX draws 2.9 running / 20.1 startup amps; and the 1800XT-ECX draws 3.0 running / 20.1 startup amps. Le Cache provides a Thermal Load Calculations guide to help match the correct unit to your room conditions.
How well does this cabinet control humidity, and does it actively manage it?
A: Yes — this is an active system, not passive. The CellarPro cooling unit includes Adjustable Humidity Control that maintains conditions appropriate for long-term aging. This is a meaningful distinction from wine coolers and refrigerators, which regulate temperature only and allow humidity to drop to levels that dry out corks over time. The cabinet also uses foil-backed polyisocyanurate insulation and double-pane tinted glass to minimize thermal exchange and UV exposure, both of which support stable internal conditions.
What does the warranty cover and for how long?
A: The warranty has two separate terms: 5 years on the CellarPro cooling system and 2 years on the cabinet itself. An optional extended warranty is also available for purchase. The cooling unit warranty is notably longer than what most competing brands offer on the refrigeration components, which reflects the durability expected from a unit in this price tier.

Absolutely gorgeous! And BIG!
Wow! This is an utterly gorgeous piece. The wood detailing is top notch and finish is elegant and refined. Be warned the 5200 model is BIG, but I love it because it can hold so much wine. Perfect to house a large collection. Pro tip: make sure to buy a surge protector BEFORE moving it into place, because you're not going to want to move it again to plug it in.
