Details

A well-assembled cheese board deserves tools that look as considered as the selection itself. This three-piece set covers every texture you're likely to put out — a pronged knife for semi-hard wedges, a spreader for soft and creamy varieties and a wide plane for slicing and serving — with polished stainless steel blades and dark spiral handles that coil into an open loop at the base. That handle detail is what sets this set apart: it reads as rustic and European without being fussy, and it looks genuinely distinctive laid out on a board alongside a good aged manchego or a runny brie.

Best For

  • Hosting a wine and cheese gathering where you want the table to look intentional without having to think about it
  • Gifting to a host or entertaining friend who will actually reach for all three tools at their next dinner party
  • Moving between a creamy soft cheese and a firmer wedge on the same board without switching tools
  • Pairing with a wood or slate board as a complete, ready-to-use serving presentation

Features

  • Three knives, three cheese textures: The pronged knife cuts and spears semi-hard cheeses (1½w × 8h in.), the spreader handles soft and fresh varieties (¾w × 6¾h in.), and the plane serves and slices firmer wedges (2w × 6¾h in.). A full board is covered without improvising with the wrong tool.
  • Spirale handles: Each handle is formed from dark, twisted metal with a loop at the base — a wrought-iron-inspired detail that contrasts visibly against the polished stainless blades. The loop doubles as a practical hang point.
  • Blades are forged stainless steel with a polished finish
  • Hand wash recommended — not dishwasher safe
  • The dark handle finish and bright blade create a two-tone look that reads well on a board without requiring a matching set or specific color palette
  • IWA exclusive design, not widely available elsewhere

Pairs Well With

  • A wood or slate cheese board sized to hold a few wedges — the loop handles keep the knives visible and accessible without cluttering the surface

FAQs

What's included in this set and which knife do I use for which type of cheese?

A: The set includes three knives, each suited to a different cheese texture. The pronged knife (1½" wide x 8" long) is designed for semi-hard cheeses like manchego or aged gouda — the forked tip lets you pick up and serve slices without a separate fork. The spreader (¾" wide x 6¾" long) handles soft cheeses like brie or chèvre. The plane/serving knife (2" wide x 6¾" long) works as a slicer and server for firm and semi-firm cheeses. Together they cover the full range of a well-built cheese board.

Are these knives dishwasher safe?

A: Hand washing is recommended. The blades are forged stainless steel, which holds up well, but the darkened spiral handles are best preserved with a quick hand wash and dry rather than repeated dishwasher cycles that can dull the finish over time.

What are the handles made of and what do they actually look like in person?

A: The handles are a dark, almost matte-black twisted metal with a distinctive looped spiral end — the "Spirale" name refers to that coiled wrap at the base. The contrast between the polished stainless blades and the dark rustic handles gives the set a look that reads as intentional and artisan-made rather than off-the-shelf. The effect is visible in the product photos and holds up well on a real cheese board.

How long are these knives overall, and will they work on a standard cheese board?

A: The longest knife in the set — the pronged knife — measures 8 inches tip to handle loop. The spreader and plane each measure 6¾ inches. All three are proportioned well for boards ranging from a compact slate to a full charcuterie spread, without being so large they look out of place next to small cheese wedges.

What makes this set worth choosing over a basic stainless cheese knife set at a similar price?

A: Most budget sets use stamped blades and plain handles that blend into the table. These use forged stainless steel blades and the spiral-wrapped handles give them a handmade, European quality that shows on the table. The three knife types are also genuinely differentiated by function — not just three versions of the same blade — so they actually improve how you work through a cheese board rather than just adding serving options.

Unique style. Only 4 stars because handles seem a little small for cutting cheese

She "LOVES THESE"!

I purchased this item for 3 friends for Christmas. So I have not received a reply from all but one of them responded with an "I LOVE THESE!" She makes a charcuterie board regularly and needed something that looked elegant but not fussy. I only wish I had ordered a set for myself!! I guess I will have to do a Happy New Year gift to me!

TOTALLY DELIGHTED!

I purchased the Artisan Cheese Knives with the turned handles. My niece is a Charcuterie expert and she was totally delighted! She used this set for one of her "presentations" and they were fantastic! She received compliments from everyone!
