For anyone who entertains regularly and wants the pour itself to be part of the experience, the Vortex Tower decanter delivers. Wine cascades through the aerating fountain filter as it enters the shatterproof Tritan bowl, releasing its bouquet mid-pour rather than asking you to wait through a separate decanting step. The slate base and stainless steel stand give it a grounded, considered look on a sideboard or bar cart, and the BPA-free Tritan construction means it moves outdoors without a second thought.

The stainless steel chilling ball, frozen before service, keeps whites and rosés at temperature from the first glass to the last. When it’s time to pour, lifting the stainless steel valve at the base releases the wine directly into the glass below — no, wait — guests serve themselves by simply lifting the valve, which makes self-serve setups effortless.

Best For

  • Opening a bottle of red at a dinner party and pouring immediately, without a 30-minute wait for it to breathe
  • Serving chilled whites or rosés outdoors, where the frozen chilling ball keeps the wine cool and glass decanters are a liability
  • Gifting to a host who entertains often but likely doesn’t own a decanter that actually changes how the wine tastes
  • Setting up a pour-your-own wine station where guests serve themselves by lifting the stainless steel valve

Features

  • Vortex aeration at the pour: Wine cascades through a fountain filter as it goes straight from the bottle into the bowl, aerating on the way down rather than sitting undisturbed. No need to wait for a slow decant.
  • Bottom valve serving: Lift the stainless steel valve at the base of the bowl to dispense into glasses. The tower stays on the table — you're not lifting or tilting a full bowl.
  • Freeze-and-chill ball: The stainless steel ball sits inside the bowl with the wine. Freeze it ahead of time to keep wine cold without diluting it. Note: this ball is only compatible with the Tritan bowl, not the optional glass bowl.
  • Shatterproof Tritan bowl and aerating filter — no breakage risk if knocked over, making it a practical choice for outdoor entertaining
  • 30oz capacity (just under a standard 750ml bottle), held in a tower that stands 19" tall on a natural slate base
  • Stainless steel trim and handle; slate base adds weight and stability
  • Interchangeable bowl system: A borosilicate glass bowl (sold separately) swaps in for indoor use, though it cannot be used with the chilling ball.

Pairs Well With

  • The Vortex Borosilicate Glass Bowl (sold separately) — a direct swap for the Tritan bowl when using the decanter indoors and the shatterproof advantage isn't needed

FAQs

Is the Vortex Tower Decanter made of glass, and will it break if it tips over?

A: The bowl and aerating filter are made from BPA-free Tritan polymer plastic — the same shatterproof material used in high-end drinkware — so it won’t shatter if knocked over. That makes it genuinely usable outdoors, on a patio or at a poolside gathering, without the anxiety of a glass decanter. A borosilicate glass bowl is available separately for indoor-only use, though it cannot be used with the included stainless steel chilling ball.

How does the aerating and chilling actually work?

A: When you pour wine from the bottle into the top of the tower, it cascades through the aerating filter, exposing the wine to air as it flows down — releasing its aroma before it even reaches the bowl. The included stainless steel chilling ball sits inside the bowl and can be frozen beforehand to keep the wine cool without diluting it. To serve, you simply lift the stainless steel valve at the bottom of the decanter and pour directly into a glass below.

How much wine does it hold, and is that enough for a dinner party?

A: The decanter holds 30 ounces, which is exactly one standard 750ml bottle of wine. For a dinner party, that means you’d pour and serve one bottle at a time — the tower format makes the pour itself part of the table experience, so refilling as needed adds to the occasion rather than detracting from it.

How tall is it, and will it look right on a table or bar cart?

A: The full assembly stands 19 inches tall on its slate base, with a 5" x 5" footprint. It’s genuinely dramatic at that height — the stainless steel arm, slate base and clear Tritan bowl give it a sculptural presence that reads as considered rather than fussy. It photographs well and holds its own on a styled table without competing with the glassware.

What’s included with the decanter, and does it come ready to gift?

A: The set includes the Tritan polymer decanter bowl, the aerating filter, the stainless steel chilling ball, stainless steel trim, and the slate base — everything needed to aerate, chill and serve. Wine glasses are not included. The glass bowl for indoor use is sold separately and is easily interchangeable with the Tritan bowl, though note it cannot be paired with the chilling ball.

Can this be used outside, and is it easy to clean?

A: Yes — the shatterproof Tritan bowl and filter are specifically noted as suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, which sets this apart from glass decanters that require careful handling. The product data does not specify dishwasher compatibility, so hand washing the components is the safest approach to preserve the stainless steel finish and slate base.

Tower Decanter makes wine HAPPY

found this at a winery, asked there management where I could get one or can I purchased one from them . They said it was available to the public . I went home and started my search found it bought it , seems pricey but a good bottle of wine deserves this tower decanter . A+++++ buy

To thin

It looks wonderful in the catalog, but when you open It up the glass is so thin I am afraid it will break on the first use. The stand is not that sturdy to hold a bottle of wine. I bought 3 for Christmas gifts but would be embarrassed to give them. And with shipping I paid over $200 a piece. I will be returning them.

Thank you so much for your review. We forwarded your comments to the owner of the manufacturer, and he replied as follows:

Never heard anything like this from any of our customers, (consumer, restaurant or tasting room). The "thin glass" is Borosilicate which is basically Shatter Proof Pyrex and very very durable. I have even dropped the filter tray on the floor at trade shows to prove how durable in fact. We have more than 30 restaurants in the USA serving wine thru the Table Tower daily and it is certainly abused in that environment. The stand is perfectly balanced with a non-slip eva base plus it is minimalist due to the fact that it creates a smaller visible foot print, by design.

The only complaint we had on 2 separate occasions was a slight drip but it turned out to be due to an uneven surface. One outside on a patio and the other the decanter was not seated correctly in the holder.

Stunning centerpiece!

This is such fun to use - the pour cascades down the sides in a sort of waterfall effect, and the latch that releases the wine is easy to use. I find it to be quite sturdy, and it looks great. I've started using it instead of my regular decanters.

Sleek and fun

I purchased this as a gift for my husband. He loves the novelty of using a tower decanter. It easily holds a full bottle and the aeration as one pours the wine from the bottle looks cool. I was worried that the base would not be sturdy enough, but that hasn’t been a problem. The sleek design overall is a plus, though I would advocate for a little bigger base for added peace of mind to avoid a careless mishap.

Thin fragile glass so be careful. Works great for a small party or dinner but once it’s set in place you really can’t move it around so be sure it’s in a convenient spot. Must be set in stand correctly or it leaks.
