IWA Waterfall Decanter #10-034
Details
When you have guests arriving in twenty minutes and a bottle that needs to breathe, this decanter earns its place on the table. Pour the wine through its aerating top and watch it cascade down the walls of the wide glass bowl — the entire bottle is aerated in under two minutes, with no swirling, no waiting and nothing to fuss over. The broad, tapered base and clean stopper make it composed enough to leave out while everyone finds their seat.
What sets it apart from a standard carafe is the reversibility: if wine is left over, turn the decanter upside down and the stopper lets you return it directly to the original bottle for storage. No wasted pour, no second vessel to deal with. Made from lead-free glass.
Best For
- Opening a tannic red or young Cabernet when guests are already at the door
- Hosting a dinner where the decanter stays on the table and doubles as a serving vessel
- Giving to someone who entertains but doesn’t want a fussy or fragile piece on their counter
- Finishing only part of a bottle and wanting to preserve the rest without a separate stopper
Features
- Built-in cascade aerator at the neck: Wine flows through a fitted aerator and spreads across the interior glass walls on the way down, exposing it to significantly more air than a standard decanter pour. This is what delivers full aeration in under 2 minutes rather than 30–60 minutes of passive resting.
- Stopper included: A metal-topped stopper seals the decanter neck, enabling the flip-and-pour-back step without spillage and keeping any remaining wine sealed for short-term storage.
- 41 oz capacity holds a standard 750ml bottle
- Wide, low-profile base: The broad conical shape keeps the center of gravity low. Less prone to tipping than tall or narrow decanters during a dinner or party setting.
- Compact footprint: 6¾ inches wide and 8¼ inches tall
- Lead-free glass

FAQs
How does the Waterfall Decanter actually aerate wine so quickly?
A: Wine pours through a built-in aerator at the neck and cascades down the interior walls of the wide glass bowl in a continuous, hands-free waterfall. That sustained, film-like contact with air accelerates oxidation, softening tannins while evaporating acidity and bitterness — the entire process takes less than 2 minutes. A traditional decanter achieves a similar result, but typically requires 30 to 60 minutes of wait time after pouring.
What do I do if I don't finish the whole bottle?
A: Turn the decanter upside down over your original bottle and the leftover wine flows back in for storage. The stopper included with the decanter seals the bottle once it's been returned. This is one of the most practical differences between this decanter and a conventional open-bowl style — you don't have to commit to finishing every drop the moment you open it.
How much wine does it hold, and will a full bottle fit?
A: The decanter holds 41 ounces, which comfortably exceeds a standard 750ml bottle (approximately 25.4 oz). The wide conical base measures 6¾" wide x 6¾" deep with a height of 8¼", giving it a low, stable footprint on a table or sideboard.
What is the decanter made of, and is it safe for regular use?
A: The bowl is made from lead-free glass and weighs 1.6 lbs. The aerator fitting at the neck — visible in the product images as a black ribbed collar — is a separate component that directs the wine flow. Because it's lead-free, it's safe for everyday pouring without any concern about leaching, which is worth confirming on any glass decanter you use regularly.
How is this different from a standard open-bowl decanter?
A: A standard decanter relies entirely on surface area and passive exposure to air over time. The Waterfall Decanter uses an active cascade mechanism that forces wine across a large air-exposed surface in a moving stream, compressing that wait into under 2 minutes. It also doubles as a serving vessel and — uniquely — allows you to return unfinished wine to the original bottle, neither of which a traditional decanter supports.

This has worked well on both of the bottles I tried it in. It is a great conversation piece. The fit to the bottles has been great. No problems. Also it is great to be able to put it back in the bottle at the end of the night.
Novel and great

I love this decanter!! It is a beautiful piece of art. It greatly enhances the taste and aroma of my wine. I use it EVERY single time I open a bottle... and that’s pretty often.
Does a great job!

I love it! I love the waterfall (windfall?) effect, I love the no-hands ease of decanting an entire bottle at one time,I love the ease of cleaning the carafe, but most of all I love the fact that decanting opens up nuanced flavors in the wine. It is not my first aerator by any means, but lastly, I love not having to aerate the wine glass by glass with a hand held aerator.
