Rabbit Vertical Corkscrew Black #1258
Rabbit Vertical Corkscrew Black (P/N R1-06301). The Vertical Rabbit stands up on the wine bottle and operates vertically. Like the Original Rabbit, it pulls a cork in 3 seconds flat, ejects the cork automatically, and carries a Ten-Year warranty.
The Vertical Rabbit has a die-cast metal lever and comes in a choice of hi-sheen race-car finishes.
With all gear teeth made of hardened metal, the Rabbit was tested and verified by an independent lab for 20,000 cork pulls. The test assumed replacement of the spiral (worm) after 800-1,000 cork pulls.
We couldn't design a better corkscrew than the Original Rabbit, so we designed a totally different one: the Vertical Rabbit.
- Pulls a cork in 3 seconds flat
- Automatically releases cork
- Velvet, easy-grip black finish
- Die-cast metal lever
- Choice of hi-sheen racing-car finishes
- Ten-year manufacturer warranty

Looks good, but better openers are out there
First, a confession: Although I purchase many of our wine accessories from IWA, I bought this Rabbit opener from another retailer. Nonetheless, I wanted to share my experience with IWA customers.
I thought this would be easy to use, but sometimes the worm doesn't line up properly -- and you can't tell because everything is happening inside the cylinder, where you can't see it. Despite the long arm, I found that it wasn't easy to get good leverage for tight corks. I also discovered that after a while the black plastic hinged portion of this opener developed a sticky texture; I'll try to scrub that off before I offer it to other wine friends who might like it better than I do.
For me, I'm sticking to my traditional Rabbit opener -- but I'm just as happy with one of my nice double-hinged waiter's corkscrews!

would not recommend this
I did not like this model - The Rabbit with a lever is a far better product and easier to use.
