Good, but not great.
by Kevin -
Delivery was excellent.
I waited 48 hours before turning it on, and I packed my cabinet with the wine I wanted stored in there. The compressor makes a very low volume buzzing/humming sound while working to get down to the temperature, but then it is silent after that. I was impressed by this.
The photos on this site are a bit misleading -- the bottom 1/5 -1/4 of the cabinet can only stack bottles 1 bottle deep. I was disappointed to see this, but it is what it is. I wanted to also have some pull out shelves on the top. There definitely is bottle scraping with some of the bigger Oregon Pinot Noir bottles and some of the Burgundy bottles. As others have said, California Cabs are a PITA. They don't stack well, so you have to get creative.
Temps range from 54-56 degrees.
But, for my Bordeaux bottles -- the majority of what I cellar -- the unit works like a charm.
This unit is stored in my basement. Ambient temps are about 60-75 throughout the year.

1st time Trasntherm purchase
by Rex
I have other wine cabinets and am impressed with this one. Though I haven't had it very long it appears to be working well. It is also slightly bigger than my previous cabinets, which is nice when having odd sized bottles. It is quiet and seems to be holding the temperature well. The delivery process was fine except that it was a week later than originally projected. Hope this cabinet lasts a long, long time.
Expected a lot
by Rick D
I recently purchased this cabinet knowing that it wouldn't hold the max bottle count (267) because the majority of my collection includes California wines with plenty of Napa Cabs and Turley Zins. I love Turley but when it comes to storage, their bottles are the worst.
This cabinet is set up to hold 13 bottles per shelf. Surprisingly, the shelf held 11 Turleys with a little room to spare. That in itself amazed me.
I wasn't as lucky with the Cabs. The shape of the bottle didn't allow me to lay the bottles 2 deep.
However, when I compared the shape of the Turleys vs the Cab bottles, I could put 6 Turleys on the back row and 7 Cabs in the front (=13). Yes, that's mixing varietals on the same shelf, but if you're a California wine fan like me, it's well worth it to load over 200 bottles.
The cabinet:
1) provides more room per bottle than all the other cabinet I've owned
2) is very quiet
3) is in my garage and the internal temperature hardly deviates at all.
Bottom line? My expectations have been met in every way.
Plus, the 3 "extra" shelves makes this deal even better.
Excellent Delivery Process
by Raja
Product has only been in house for four days so too early to judge. Out of the box it works fine and is oh so quiet. Delivery process was excellent. On time. Courteous, efficient and knowledgable delivery guys. set in place, leveled and cleaned up . No hassle. So good I tipped them. previous delivery process for Hermitage I bought ten years ago was not nearly so good; in fact it was bad.
one warning: Transtherm will not provide a new evaporator if one in Bastide fails. My previous Hermitage evaporator failed and I was forced to buy a new unit. It lasted 10 years; you should assume you will have to replace yours in that time
Transtherm Bastide

This is our second Bastide, the first is full. We're very happy with the unit. The cellar is located in a space that has a large temperature variance (40 to 90 deg. ). To my knowledge this is the only cellar that addresses this issue. It has worked flawlessly. The customer support was excellent. I would not hesitate to buy from IWA again.
Very pleased with Transtherm Bastide wine cellar

I did a lot of research, comparing the Transtherm Bastile to other models. The salesman did an excellent job answering all my questions. The unit was delivered in two weeks and the delivery company did an excellent job placing the unit in my house. Very pleased with the purchased so far. Would do business with IWA in the future.
