Le Cache Euro 3800 Chocolate #750
Details
When a collection has grown past the point where a cooler or closet conversion can keep up, the Euro 3800 is the answer. Designed by Pinnacle Award-winning designer Martin de Blois, it holds 458 bottles — 408 in all-wood interlock racks and roughly 50 in bulk — and delivers genuine cellar conditions through an advanced CellarPro cooling unit with digital temperature and adjustable humidity control. The chocolate cherry finish, hand-carved trim and hardwood French doors with double-pane tinted glass make this a serious piece of furniture, not just an appliance.
The engineering behind it is what separates it from wine coolers and standard refrigerators. Foil-backed polyisocyanurate insulation and sealed seams maintain thermal stability, while SB/0™ technology allows the cabinet to sit flush against the wall with top-vent exhaust — no clearance gap required. The CellarPro unit runs quietly, offers Energy-Saver and Quick-Chill modes and includes audible and visual alarms if conditions drift. Universal racking accommodates oversized bottles, so heavier Burgundy formats sit just as securely as a standard Bordeaux.
Best For
- Storing a mixed cellar of 300–450 bottles in a dining room, finished basement or second home where the cabinet needs to look like furniture
- Long-term aging of Bordeaux, Burgundy or Napa Cabernet where humidity management — not just temperature — matters for cork health over years
- Collectors who have outgrown a single-zone cooler and need verified cellar conditions without a full renovation
- Placing a large-format cabinet flush to a wall where rear-exhaust clearance is not available
Features
- SB/0™ Zero-Clearance Technology: The cooling unit exhausts through the top of the cabinet, so no rear or side clearance is required. The unit sits flush against a wall, making it a practical choice for dining rooms, finished basements or tight alcoves.
- 458-bottle capacity with double-deep racking: 408 slots are racked at 3.8-inch centers (wide enough for Burgundy, Champagne and other oversized formats) plus approximately 50 bottles in a bulk stacking area. Slot count and configuration are visible with the doors open.
- Three CellarPro cooling unit options (all US-made): The 1800QTL-ECX, 1800QT-ECX and 1800XT-ECX differ in startup amp draw and cooling capacity — a selection guide is available to match the unit to your room's thermal load. Running draw starts at 2.4 amps on the QTL model.
- Adjustable humidity control with digital display: The CellarPro unit manages both temperature and humidity actively, unlike wine coolers or refrigerators. An electronic thermostat with digital readout lets you dial in conditions for long-term aging rather than just short-term chilling.
- Energy-Saver and Quick-Chill modes: Energy-Saver reduces operating costs during steady-state storage; Quick-Chill brings a newly added batch down to target temperature faster. Audible and visual alarms trigger if conditions move outside set parameters.
- Foil-backed polyisocyanurate insulation combined with double-pane tinted glass provides both thermal mass and UV protection throughout the cabinet walls and doors.
- High Performance Air Filtration System removes particulates and odors from the interior air supply.
- Keyed security locks on both doors; hand-turned pewter pulls; low-heat LED interior lighting; optional bottle probe for precise internal temperature monitoring
- Warranty: 5 years on the cooling system, 2 years on the cabinet; optional extended warranty available

What These Specs Mean
- Running vs. Startup Amps: Startup amps reflect the peak draw at compressor ignition — the 1800QTL-ECX peaks at 14.2 amps while the QT and XT models reach 20.1 amps, which determines the minimum dedicated circuit capacity required for safe installation.
- Cooling Unit Options (QTL / QT / XT): The three CellarPro units represent different heat-load handling tiers; the correct choice depends on your room's ambient temperature and insulation conditions — use the Thermal Load Calculations guide to match the unit to your installation environment.

Please note:
(1) We count the top of the racks as 1 row when counting rows in our racks.
(2) Every slot in the racks is 3 3/4" and sized to fit oversized Burgundy and most Champagne-size bottles.
(3) Bulk storage is located atop the racks (except for the first row atop the racks). Bulk storage capacity is based on Bordeaux-size bottles.
(4) Total capacity is the sum of racked plus bulk capacity, with double-deep storage in all cases except the Contemporary Credenza (which is single-deep). Usable capacity may be lower by 2-3 bottles when the first few cells under the cooling unit are left empty for proper air circulation.
FAQs
Is the Euro 3800 freestanding or can it be built in?
A: The Euro 3800 is a freestanding cabinet. Le Cache’s SB/0™ Technology allows it to sit flush against the wall because the cooling unit exhausts heat through the top vent rather than the rear — no clearance gap behind the unit is required. It is not designed for a recessed built-in installation. At 63” wide x 31” deep x 91” tall and 510 lbs, plan your room layout and door clearances carefully before delivery.
What is the actual bottle capacity, and will it hold larger-format Burgundy or Napa Cabernet bottles?
A: Total capacity is 458 bottles: 408 racked slots sized at 3.8-inch openings and approximately 50 bottles of bulk stacked storage. The all-wood interlock racks use a universal design specifically sized to accommodate oversized bottles, so heavier Burgundy pinots, thick-shouldered Napa Cabernets and similarly large formats fit without modification. Standard Bordeaux bottles have even more room to spare.
Does this cabinet actively control humidity, or is it just a refrigerated cooler?
A: Active humidity control is a core feature, not an afterthought. The CellarPro cooling unit includes adjustable humidity control with a dedicated performance chart available from Le Cache. Standard wine coolers and household refrigerators cycle out moisture as a byproduct of cooling — the Euro 3800 manages both temperature and humidity simultaneously, which is what separates a true aging cabinet from a short-term chiller. This matters most for collections intended for multi-year cellaring where cork integrity is critical.
What are the electrical requirements, and which CellarPro cooling unit should I choose?
A: The cabinet runs on a standard 115V AC / 60 Hz circuit — no dedicated high-voltage line required. Three CellarPro unit options are available: the 1800QTL-ECX (2.4A running / 14.2A startup), the 1800QT-ECX (2.9A running / 20.1A startup) and the 1800XT-ECX (3.0A running / 20.1A startup). The right choice depends on the ambient temperature and insulation of the room where the cabinet will live — Le Cache provides a Thermal Load Calculations guide to walk through that selection. Note that startup amp draw can be significant, so confirm your circuit breaker rating before installation.
What does the warranty cover and for how long?
A: The warranty has two distinct terms: 5 years on the CellarPro cooling unit and 2 years on the cabinet itself. An optional extended warranty is also available for purchase. The cooling unit warranty is notably longer than most competitors because CellarPro units are manufactured in the USA and Le Cache backs them separately from the cabinet structure.
How loud is the Euro 3800 in a living space like a dining room?
A: Le Cache markets this generation of cabinets as featuring the most advanced and quietest CellarPro cooling units available. CellarPro publishes detailed sound performance data for each 1800-series unit — the 1800QTL-ECX has the lowest running amperage (2.4A) and is generally the quietest option among the three. For a dining room or open living area where noise is a concern, the QTL variant is worth reviewing against the published decibel specs before finalizing your cooling unit selection.

Great Product

bought the 3800 and had delivered 4/9. I had a problem with delivery company and they did not level and therefore the unit would not seal correctly. But the team at IWA was very helpful and called moving company to come back out and level correctly. The one thing i learned is leveling the unit is very important and cannot be done with 1 person. IWA was great, delivery company was just OK, but had i known about the leveling before i could have avoided some problems. Great unit, good looking, great cooling unit. 468 botlle count is a little high, but i did get over 400 in unit.
Wine cabinet Cache 3800

We have finally received our cabinet after, returning it when they tried to deliver the first time. The delivery company wanted to leave it at the front door, which would not work since, we were supposed to have white gloved delivery.
It has now been installed and the wine has been placed in the cooler. The spacing is large and holds the large bottles. It would be nice if the space at the top had racks at least one side. Seems somewhat wasted space. Overall I am very satisfied with the cooler.
