Amazing Wine Opener - will last and last and last!!!

by -

I work in a winery. We have three of these in use at all times. We probably open 100 bottles of wine on a daily basis. I even have a Rogar Estate wine opener at home for personal use! I recommend purchasing an extra auger, as that can wear out over time. But this item is WELL worth the price!

Great Wine Bottle Opener

by -

I have had an Estate Opener (by Rogar) for over 10 years. This is a great opener and has served me well. It opens bottles with either a standard or an artificial cork. As pointed out in another review, the IWA opener is identical to the one made by Rogar. Rogar is now having a problem obtaining replacement parts for their openers, so I have had to purchase a new one.

My only problems with this opener have been with the Worm/Augar. The augar has a tendency to break (a plastic/telfon part). When this happens, the force required to open a wine bottom becomes excessive. Also, the wire worm has a tendency to distort (sometimes permanently) when opening bottles with a hard artificial cork. Rogar fixed the latter problem with a solid-core screw. I try to keep an extra Worm/Argar (Item # 19126) on hand to fix the problem.

Estate is great

I own and have gifted Rogar wine openers for over 20 years. Rogar for the past few years does not have inventory readily available anymore. This Estate by IWA looks and acts the same as the Estate Rogar - so it probably is the Rogar, just Rogar not mentioned by name anywhere by IWA. No Rogar Champion model to be found.

This opener is the gold standard by far. You will be impressed by it's functionality and durability. Get one while you can. I feel fortunate to have found it via IWA. By the way the optional tri-pod I also purchased was delivered in a Rogar box, so IWA definately distributes Rogar wine opener products.

best opener of this type that we could find

by

We wanted to replace a Vintner opener that looked a lot like this that we had had for more than 20 years. After looking at all the reviews available this looked like the best option. We have not been disappointed. It fits perfectly on the wooden stand that we already had, arrived in a timely fashion, and has worked well to open bottles. Hope it holds up. Love the looks and so far, the function
